You’ve got to love a big sausage I managed to devour the foot long delicacy
When we found out here at the Post that Morrisons were selling a big sausage roll - we just had to get our hands on it.
So with me having a repuation in the office for ‘ enjoying my scran’, I was instantly volunteered for the task.
I nipped down to Ayr Morrisons and picked up one of these humongous pastry delights for just £ 1.
At an incredile 12 inches, the foot long sausage roll is sure to be a big hit for those who think six inches just isn’t enough.
At 1,650 calories it’s enough the turn the obesity brigade into a fury.
I also bought a Greggs sausage roll at 90p ( 349 calories) to compare - and there was a stark difference.
The Morrisons one is double the size of the Greggs offering, and over FOUR times the weight.
So I got the biggest sausage roll available in the UK - made by the Ayr store - back to the office and I couldn’t wait to tuck in.
If I am being completely honest I was sceptical at first - it just seemed as though they were going for quantity over quality.
But I was too quick to assume - it had quantity AND quality.
It was nice and crisp, but not crispy enough that it was solid... it was the right kind of crisp.
There was a perfect ratio of sausage to pastry - as we all know, there is nothing worse than not having enough sausage in the roll.
It left me feeling greatly satisfied. Although I did have it just after 9am.
The fact it comes in its own special tray rather than a flimsy paper bag shows that Morrisons mean business with this sausage roll.
These are recommended for sharing at picnics - but I think you should wolf it down alone.
