Troon Rotary Club takes revenue only from table sales which offsets hiring of hall and kitchen. The choir give two concerts during the year – one at Christmas and another during Spring. The programme of music covered throughout the year is a mixture of secular, sacred, opera and from well known shows. The Conductor is Sam Prescott and Accompanis­t Andrew Thom – both young. talented and enthusiast­ic. New members are welcome at the first meeting of the new session takes place on Wednesday August 23 at 2pm in St Meddan’s Church hall. New school The new school is now almost complete and although there has been a few snags pupils will be returning at the end of the holidays. It is hoped that the Council remove that horrible flower/ weed bed at the side of the new school before the school starts for the new session. Building repairs As mentioned before, that while some of the property in the Village is in a state of disrepair, the council has the responsibi­lity to make the buildings safe - the ones involved are the former Masonic Hall, the shops at the corner of Glasgow Road/ Main Street and the former Church Hall in Glasgow Road.
