Ayrshire cancer charity flying high at airshow
cancer.
“Our hospital transport service undertakes over 1000 journeys a month and despite these being carried out by our amazing volunteers, we still need to raise over £ 2000 per week to sustain this service alone.
“Without it, some people who are currently receiving life- saving cancer treatment would be unable to attend crucial appointments – and that simply can’t happen. If anyone could volunteer a few hours of their time to help us fundraise at this brilliant event, please do get in touch.”
Doug Maclean, Director TSIA said: “The Airshow can only take place because of the support from South Ayrshire Council and great sponsors like Spirit AeroSystems, Loganair and EventScotland, part of VisitScotland’s Events Directorate.
“Bringing this enormous event to Ayr provides not only world class entertainment but allows many businesses and charities to benefit from the large numbers who attend.
“The Airshow attracts the largest family crowds of any outdoor event in Scotland and while it has been a labour of love, we are genuinely interested in attracting world class events to Ayrshire.
“People often ask if they can donate to help the Airshow and now, with this collection scheme, they can.
“It’s almost unheard of to know of anyone who has not been affected by cancer in some way and these donations will be invaluable to the Airshow and Ayrshire Cancer Support.”
Individuals, community groups or schools interested in volunteering should telephone Gail Anderson, Senior Fundraiser, Ayrshire Cancer Support on 01563 475024.
