Wrestler’s back ... with a Swagger
A former WWE heavyweight champion will thrill wrestling fans in Kilmarnock this month.
Jack Swagger, a former amateur wrestling star and title winner with the grappling giants, will headline another action- packed night of British Championship Wrestling at Kilmarnock’s Grand Hall on Friday, August 25.
He will make his first Scottish appearance since leaving the WWE in Kilmarnock, and promoter Graham McKay says the superstar can’t wait to perform.
He said: “Jack told me he has good memories of coming to Scotland when he was on tour with the WWE.
“He really loves the rowdy Scottish fans – and he’s good friends with Drew Galloway, who’s told him all about how great the BCW crowds are.”
Joining Swagger at the event next week will be another American star in Colt Cabana – who first wrestled in Kilmarnock more than a decade ago.
He has since gone on to make a name for himself as one of the most successful wrestlers outside of the WWE, touring the world and gaining legions of fans through his hilarious in- ring performances as well as his stand- up comedy and podcasting career.
The show on August 25 will be the latest in a string of successful BCW shows, which create a big- night feel with video screens and pyrotechnics in front of sell- out crowds.
As well as the American stars making special appearances, the cream of the crop from the red- hot British wrestling scene will be in the ring on the night.
BCW Heavyweight Champion BT Gunn – who stole the show last time in Kilmarnock against WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne – and BCW Openweight Champion Stevie Xavier will be in action, along with fellow Scottish stars Jack Jester, Joe Coffey and many more.
Tickets for British Championship Wrestling at the Grand Hall in Kilmarnock are still available, priced at £ 12.50 each or four for £ 40.
