Be inspired by Strictly to get out and go dancing

-

Dance is a popular pasttime with all ages and this year the fitness dance industry is ready to welcome new clients into classes.

Zumba seemed to be the catalyst for dance based fitness classes, and it’s incredible to think that Zumba is currently celebrating 10 years of instructor led classes.

Since then there has been a slew of new classes all with a dance based theme and it would seem that in 2017 the growth will continue.

Strictly Come Dancing has just finished on BBC, but did you know that dance professionals Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite have created their own dance based fitness class?

Fitsteps uses ballroom and Latin dance moves to deliver a great workout, and as well as group exercise classes, they have also just released their own home workout DVD.

If ballroom or latin isn’t your thing, maybe you fancy trying Clubercise instead.

This workout transports you straight to the dance floor, as you perform moves and routines to modern club music.

For some though, dance should be more refined and regulkated, that’s where Ballet Barre classes come in.

In a Barre class, you learn to move and pose like a classically trained ballerina.

The focus is more on core stability, and you are trained to extend your muscles and hold your stances with poise and grace.

So if getting fit through dance is your goal this year, have a quick look around at all the classes available and have great fun whatever you do.

So read on to find out what dance classes are around in Ayrshire for you to try.
