SPRINGWATE­R FISHERY A family double act scored a winner when a memorial competitio­n from Irvine council was held on both the fly and the bait lochs.

Winners on the bait loch were Dean Anderson and his six- year- old son Dean jnr with six for 11lb 12oz.

First on the fly was Woody with four for 19lb 4oz – he also returned a 13lb rainbow.

Second was Alec Anderson with four for 8lb 12oz, third was Scott Glass with four for 8lb 8oz.

Other catches: David Cowan three for 6lb 8oz, Mr Hanns two for 5lb, Mr Thomson two for 4lb 8oz. Other catches: J Cunningham two for 3lb 8oz, Kaleb two for 4lb 4oz, G McLaughlan three for 7lb, B Greenshiel­ds two for 3lb 8oz, D Porter two for 3lb 10oz, Puggy three for 8lb, biggest 4lb 2oz, Davie Kernachan and son six for 14lb, seven- yearold Heidi Ellis three fish for 6lb 4oz.

Coarse loch still catching carp along with good roach and rudd. BURNS TROUT FISHERY The PGLA visited when first on the fly was C Hamilton ( 126) with four fish for 7lb 11oz. First on the bait was C McKellar ( 0) two for 3lb 12oz. A total of 28 fish were caught.

The next committee meeting is on Monday, September 4 in the Ayr Ex Services Club at 7pm. RAITH RESERVOIR The Founder Members Trophy was won by Jordan Phillips ( junior) with one fish for 3lb 5oz P/ B. Runner- up was Jim Phillips with one for 3lb 1oz P/ B.

Jim Phillips won the over 60s competitio­n with one fish for 3lb 1oz P/ B. Joint runners- up Neil McGinn and Willie Ure had one fish each for 2lb 3oz P/ B.

Jordan Phillips won the junior competitio­n1 fish for 3lb 5oz P/ B.

Fish returns for July 30 to August 6: David Allan one for 3lb Fly, Ray ( Shalako) Hogg one for 2lb P/ B, John Lothian one for 1lb 6oz P/ B, Rod Wills one ( brown) for 2lb worm, Tom Watson one for 3lb P/ B, Mullen ( day ticket) three for 13lb 12oz.
