Talbot boss hits at red card cons

Sent- off Wilson is a marked man claims Sloan

Tommy Sloan claims opponents are conning referees to get star striker Graham Wilson sent off.

The Auchinleck boss hit out after Wilson and Willie Lyle were red carded in a 4- 3 defeat at Rob Roy after blowing a 3- 0 lead.

Wilson had put Talbot 2- 0 up before he was dismissed for a second yellow.

Jamie Glasgow added a third just after the break before Rabs scored twice and Lyle was dismissed for a wild tackle.

Against nine men, Rob Roy sensed their chance and after Andy Leishman saved a penalty, they struck twice for an unlikely win.

Sloan hit out: “Graham is getting singled out by a lot of teams because they can’t handle him.

“There is play acting and every time he jumps for the ball the centre- half falls to the ground holding his face and the refs are buying it.

“Willie was silly going in for a challenge when, as an experienced player, he should have stayed on his feet.

“However, even with nine men we should have done better and that’s disappointing.”

Talbot will be without Mark Shankland on Wednesday night when they head to Girvan in the Ardagh Cup quarter- finals. That’s followed by the league visit of Hurlford on Saturday.
