A very successful Macmillan Coffee Morning was held in Troon Library on Thursday September 28. The sum of £ 244 was raised for the work of the Macmillan Nurses. A Curl Fest – Try Curling for Free - will take place at Ayr Ice Rink, 9 Limekiln Road, on Sunday October 15 from noon to 8pm. There will be opportunit­ies for families to take part in competitio­ns and enjoy having fun on the ice. Troon Community Council are looking for three new Councillor­s. If you are interested in taking part in decision making which affects the town – for instance town planning, bus services and other issues. Margaret Weir will give a talk on Assistance Dogs - especially those who help wheelchair users. The annual subscripti­on is £ 10 and new members are warmly welcomed. Indoor Petanque and Carpet Bowls have proved to be very popular with OIR members. Sessions are held every Friday afternoon in Muirhead Activity Centre from 2pm to 4pm. Equipment is available. Football Coaching Sessions are taking place in Troon Old Parish Church Hall every Thursday at the following times: Pre- School children aged from 2years - 3.45pm to 4.30pm.
