A care society is raising money for people in need in South Ayrshire.

Crossroads South Ayrshire will be raising money when they take over Maybole Charity Shop on Saturday, October 21 until October 27.

They will be selling all kinds of items at the High Street shop such as clothing, jewellery and bric- a- brac.

The shop will be open 10am- 4pm each of these days – apart from Sunday when it will be closed. Chairwoman Ann Clark said: “We decided we have to raise money for Crossroads so that we can devote more hours to what we do.

“One of our helpers knew about the charity shop in Maybole and we thought‘ why not?’

“We have done a huge amount of collecting of anything sellable.

“We have 13 volunteers whose shifts will spread out over the week.” Crossroads South Ayrshire are affiliated to Crossroads Caring Scotland, but they are an independently registered Scottish charity.

Ann said: “Crossroads South Ayrshire Care Attendant Scheme’s principal objective is to provide a domiciliary service to relieve carers and their families in South Ayrshire from the stress of caring for persons who need constant supervision. The service is dedicated to treating carers and people with care needs with respect and sensitivity; with flexible recognition of their individual and diverse needs; and with due regard to their dignity and independence.

“The service is available for all carers regardless of age, gender, form of disability or ethnicity of the person being cared for.”
