Hal­loween event to be the scari­est ever

Still Game stars to join fun

It will be the spook­i­est time of the year when the spirit of Hal­loween comes alive at this year’s Tam­fest in Ayr town cen­tre.

Tam­fest re­turns on the week­end of Oc­to­ber 27 to 29 and is guar­an­teed to be big­ger and scarier than be­fore.

This year’s head­lin­ers are Still Game’s Jane McGarry and Mark Cox, who will be pre­mier­ing a spe­cial per­for­mance es­pe­cially for Tam­fest.

Also on the Tam Stage, spon­sored by Beat­tie’s Demo, will be 2016 X- Fac­tor fi­nal­ist Emily Mid­dle­mas.

Ayr Cen­tral will be home to the fam­ily zone dur­ing the week­end and chil­dren of all sizes will be able to en­joy free magic shows, face­paint­ing, pump­kin carv­ing and much more!

Ayr’s High Street will have on- street en­ter­tain­ment as well as a spe­cial Tam­fest Mar­ket.

For those fes­ti­val go­ers who are brave enough, WarCry Pro­duc­tions are back to present another fright­en­ing in­ter­ac­tive haunted house ex­pe­ri­ence, Rav­en­ous! Lo­cated in the Town Hall and open­ing on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 27, it will run un­til Novem­ber 1.

A chil­dren’s haunted house will be lo­cated in the the Town Hall.

The Gai­ety Theatre will be host­ing sev­eral zom­bie and Hal­loween pro­duc­tions dur­ing Tam­fest and there will be per­for­mances in the sur­round­ing com­mu­ni­ties and vil­lage halls

To end the Tam­fest week­end with a bang, the Day o’ the Deid Pro­ces­sion will re­turn as the fi­nale per­for­mance on the Sun­day af­ter­noon and run­ning from one end of the High Street to the other and cul­mi­nat­ing at the Tam Stage.

Free work­shops will also be tak­ing place dur­ing the Autumn break and ev­ery­one is en­cour­aged to come along to join in the fun. Full de­tails of these work­shops is avail­able on the Day o’ the Deid Face­book page.

T h r o u g h o u t t h e week­end the first- ever Tam Fringe events will be hap­pen­ing in lo­cal groups and busi­nesses around town; Ayr Film So­ci­ety, Belleisle Fright Night, Burns Mu­seum ex­hibit, Big Sparra Vinyl, The Devil’s A s s i s t a n c e, Kaw­iar­nia C o f f e e H o u s e , Cameron’s Pub and many more.

Meredith McCrindle, Tam­fest chair­woman, said: “Tam­fest con­tin­ues to grow and this year’s pro­gramme is go­ing to be fan­tas­tic.

“Not only do we have a great line- up, we also have a sup­port­ive com­mu­nity and a won­der­ful town to cel­e­brate. Ev­ery­one is in­vited to join in the fun.”
