Win the chance to be a firestarter!

Tell us why you should push the button at big event

- Stuart Wilson

It promises to be South Ay r s h i re’s biggest fireworks spectacular of the year.

And YOU could push the button on thousands of explosives set to rocket into the sky.

We’ve got a unique prize to give away to one lucky winner, who will take centre stage at the BUYMSH charity event on Friday, November 3.

Along with DJ Colin McArdle, you can get the night’s festivities under way at Ayr Racecourse.

Our winner will press the button on more than 8000 explosives which will thunder into the sky on what is set to be a huge party night.

Everything from fairground rides to music and fire- eaters will keep the large crowds entertained.

The evening, which is sponsored by Virgin Media, is part of a fundraising effort to help build a new Malcolm Sargent House.

The charity’s CEO, Maxine Allan, said: “This is a fantastic prize.

“The fireworks show will be exciting enough – but we’d love to give someone out there the thrill of starting us off.

“Our show will be fun for all the family and we’d be delighted to have someone up on stage with us doing the honours.”

To be in with a chance of winning this special prize, simply write to us and tell us why you deserve to get the party started.

The prize is open to all ages and the winner will be on stage to push the button on the first firework.

Write to us with your reason for winning, and include your name, address, age and daytime telephone number.

Send entries to: Fireworks competition, Ayrshire Post, Nile Court, Ayr, KA7 1PX.

Winner will be chosen on Wednesday, October 25.

Editor’s decision final.
