New driver drunk
A student was caught drink driving only a few months after passing his test.
Jamie Martin, of Kenmore Place, Troon, was fined £ 400 and banned from the road for a year.
The City of Glasgow student was involved in a car crash on Logan Drive , Troon, on April 22 when police officers turned up.
The 18- year- old admitted being the driver. A blood test showed he had 126 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The limit is 50 milligrammes.
Martin, 18, who lives with his parents only passed his test in March.
The court heard it was an “act of stupidity.”
Sheriff Mhairi MacTaggart disqualified him from holding a licence for 12 months and fined him.
