Golf day teed off fab boost

-

Despite foul weather, the sixth annual golf day at Seafield in Ayr provided a mighty boost for the joint MS/ Robbie Dickie Fund.

Together with an auction and raffle in the comfort of Cambusdoon Sports Club, a total of £ 1,751 was raised.

The fund run jointly by the local branch of the MS Society and the Dickie family was set up to commemorate young Robbie Dickie who died in a hit and run road accident six years ago.

Since its inception it has distributed almost £ 27,000 to young people affected by multiple sclerosis in Ayrshire. It aims to help them fulfil their potential by assisting with grants and bursaries to help their education and employment

David Dickie said: “We greatly appreciate the support of both companies and individuals in our fundraising over the years and thank them most sincerely.

“We welcome interest not only from young people with the condition but also young people who support their parents or siblings who have MS. The generous help of the local branch of the MS Society who match our efforts on a £ for £ basis is gratefully acknowledged.”
