Strathclyde’s finance boss has pledged to release cash to put more bobbies on the beat.
John Mullin’s promise comes in the wake of the brutal murder of Prestwick woman Mrs Jean Keay.
The chairman of Strathclyde’s finance committee said: “There will be a public announcement that Strathclyde is to come up with more money. People want more bobbies on the beat and as a senior politician I am concerned about the level of violence.”
