Huge musical combo
Take the energetic, rhythmic playing of 100 violins, cellos and basses, the strident, sonorous sounds of 40 brass instruments, add a bagpiper and the sweet, youthful voices of two primary school choirs and you have the wonderful musical combination that is Two’s Company.
The Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra, The Dalmellington Band and the choirs of Heathfield and Glenburn primary schools take to Ayr Town Hall stage on Saturday, November 4 to bring their annual musical extravaganza to life.
The exciting news that the Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra has been invited to take part in next year’s New York Tartan Week in April as well as a journey to Spain to join in a string festival will add extra enthusiasm to the players’ bows while the ongoing success of the Dalmellington Band at various national competitions makes them one of Scotland’s top brass bands.
