Get set for the big bang

- Firework displays

The skies will be streaked with colour this weekend as Ayrshire celebrates Bonfire Night in style.

There are a host of events across the whole are – meaning you can get wrapped up nice and warm and get set for a fantastic display.

The Auld Toun is the place to be on Friday – with two top displays in the town.

Ayr Racecourse plays host to the BUY MSH campaign’s fundraiser, with tickets costing £ 5 and the night getting under way at 6pm.

As well as the display there will be live entertainm­ent including music, magicians and lots more.

Across the town, Ayr Rugby Club’s Millbrae home will also have a fantastic display, with doors opening at 6.30pm before the display begins at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £ 5, and the night will feature a fun fair, food and music.

The Round Table’s display takes place on Saturday, November 4.

The funfair opens at 4pm, before the display gets under way at 7.30pm.

There will be two fantastic displays during the community event at McGavin Park.

At 6pm a low noise, short fiveminute display suited to those with low noise tolerances takes place.

Following that, the display which promises to be “the biggest in Ayrshire this weekend” kicks off with a full 18 minute display from around 6.45pm.

The event also features entertainm­ent on stage from 5pm, as well as free balloon art, fire acts and stalls.

Girvan and District Attraction­s will be holding their annual firework display this week.

The firework display will take place on Saturday, November 4 and will start at 7.30pm.

Local band Barrstools and Z1 Dance Group will be providing entertainm­ent from 6.30pm.

It will be taking place on Louise Drive at the shorefront.

All are welcome along - but the team are reaching out for generous folk to leave a donation.

Maidens & District’s firework and bonfire display is set to light up the village.

It will start at 6.30pm at Maidens Harbour Green on Saturday, October 28 and feature a children’s fancy dress party along with a tombola, gift stall, burgers and a children’s disco.

A parking attendant will be in attendance for convenienc­e. Sunday, November 5 @ 6pm. Ballantrae Beach

Unlike years gone by, there are no displays in Kilmarnock or at Dumfries House this year, with the Kilmarnock show replaced by the ongoing Illuminigh­t festival.
