Anson has the answers
Scott Anson fired a hat- trick as Cumnock cruised past shock troops Craigmark.
Boss Peter Leonard feared it was a banana skin but hailed his team for a professional performance in awful conditions.
The ‘ Nock boss claimed: “Our attitude was first class and it had to be in driving rain and a howling wind.”
Former Ayr United youngster Sean McKenzie sent Cumnock on their way after 15 minutes and Anson and Ray Montgomery added two more before the break.
McKenzie also hit the bar as Cumnock mastered playing against the strong wind.
Anson completed his treble in 69 and 82 minutes as visibility and the weather got worse in the second- half.
Craigmark were denied a consolation when Bryce Reid had a goal chalked off while Scott Dempster missed a great chance at the death after trying to round Ally Semple.
