Cocaine plea
A man admitted having cocaine on him in Ayr town centre.
Shaun Murphy, of Doonfoot, Ayr pled guilty at the town’s Sheriff Court on Monday to possessing the Class A drug on a footpath at Blackfriars Walk on October 14.
Representing himself in the dock , the 34- year- old, of Kintyre Park, said he had never been in “this situation before.”
He was also accused of staring at Dylan Hewitson, acting aggressively and presenting a knife or similar object in Nile Court on the same night, which he denied.
He will face trial at a later date over the weapon charge, which he pled not guilty to.
Sentencing has been deferred for the cocaine charge.
