Co­caine plea

A man ad­mit­ted hav­ing co­caine on him in Ayr town cen­tre.

Shaun Mur­phy, of Doon­foot, Ayr pled guilty at the town’s Sher­iff Court on Mon­day to pos­sess­ing the Class A drug on a foot­path at Blackfriars Walk on Oc­to­ber 14.

Rep­re­sent­ing him­self in the dock , the 34- year- old, of Kin­tyre Park, said he had never been in “this sit­u­a­tion be­fore.”

He was also ac­cused of star­ing at Dy­lan He­wit­son, act­ing ag­gres­sively and pre­sent­ing a knife or sim­i­lar ob­ject in Nile Court on the same night, which he de­nied.

He will face trial at a later date over the weapon charge, which he pled not guilty to.

Sen­tenc­ing has been de­ferred for the co­caine charge.
