Road accidents take their toll

Two men have been hospitalised over the weekend after being struck by vehicles.

In separate incidents a 77- year- old man and a 64- year- old man were knocked down in Ayr.

The 77- year- old was knocked down on Crown Street, Ayr on Sunday at 2.25pm and was taken to Ayr Hospital.

A 20- year- old man who was driving a Vauxhall Corsa has been reported to the procurator fiscal for dangerous driving.

On Thursday, a 64- year- old man was hit by a van at the Furniture World filling station on Prestwick Road, Ayr.

He was taken to Ayr Hospital after the paramedics failed to get a response from the man.

No updates on their conditions were given.
