Rotary charity talk

Iain McWhirter, head of Fundraising and Volunteering for Motor Neurone Disease ( MND) Scotland charity visited the Girvan Rotary to give us a talk.

MND Scotland is the only charity in Scotland supporting people affected by Motor Neurone Disease, and it also funds vital research to find a cure.

Iain talked about the funding of research which takes place in Scotland and around the world and like most MND interested people he is hopeful of a breakthrough.

MND is the name given to a group of illnesses it is a progressive incurable illness affecting the nerves, called motor neurones. These nerves carry signals from the brain to muscles to tell them when to work.
