Ayr Wattfield Bowling Club had a gala day on their green, object being to aid the funds of the Red Cross Society and the Ayr County Hospital. There was a large attendance of bowlers and Miss Turnbull, Matron, and a party of wounded soldiers from Carrick House attended.
In extending a hearty welcome to the visitors, Mr Andrew Crawford, president of the Club, said this was the third gala in three years of the war.
He encouraged members to “dig deep into their pockets” to help our soldiers.
