MP Philippa backs cancer group’s aim of positive changes

An Ayrshire MP helped launch a new group to strengthen the voice of young people and children in Parliament.

Philippa Whitford, MP for Central Ayrshire, is supporting an all- party parliamentary group that hopes to “positively enact change” for young people with cancer by bringing children, their parents, MPs, charities and other leading figures together to find out what matters to them.

The SNP member, a well- regarded breast cancer surgeon, said: “Having attended the launch and heard first- hand from young people who are going through or have gone through cancer, I am proud to be part of this new Group and sincerely hope we can help amplify young cancer voices in Parliament.”
