MP Philippa backs can­cer group’s aim of pos­i­tive changes

An Ayr­shire MP helped launch a new group to strengthen the voice of young peo­ple and chil­dren in Par­lia­ment.

Philippa Whit­ford, MP for Cen­tral Ayr­shire, is sup­port­ing an all- party par­lia­men­tary group that hopes to “pos­i­tively en­act change” for young peo­ple with can­cer by bring­ing chil­dren, their par­ents, MPs, char­i­ties and other lead­ing fig­ures to­gether to find out what mat­ters to them.

The SNP mem­ber, a well- re­garded breast can­cer sur­geon, said: “Hav­ing at­tended the launch and heard first- hand from young peo­ple who are go­ing through or have gone through can­cer, I am proud to be part of this new Group and sin­cerely hope we can help am­plify young can­cer voices in Par­lia­ment.”
