Excellent showing in contest

Girls on the Auchinleck Academy S5/ 6 girls team put in an excellent showing at the Active Schools Basketball Competition.

They faced pupils from six other secondary schools, with some very good teams on show.

The Auchinleck side got off to a good start with a strong performance but losing by one basket.

They went on to achieve excellent victories in the second and third games, winning all the rebounds with some excellent passing moves before Paige McWilliam jammed in the only three pointer of the whole tournament.

The fourth game was another close affair with another narrow defeat by only one basket, followed by two defeats from two very good sides.

The girls were a credit to the school, and performed very well.
