Triumph on road for rugby lads

-

Auchinleck’s rugby boys took Stornoway by storm after a long journey.

It was an early start for the side as they travelled to the Outer Hebrides to play The Nicholson Institute in Stornoway but even the weather and 10- hour travel couldn’t dampen their spirits.

The boys arrived at the school full of confidence - and it showed with a 71- 12 win, with two tries from U16 Scotland cap Jamie Drummond in the opening 10 minutes of the game.

This was followed by two tries for acting fly half Kevin Van Der Leest plus two tries from U15 player Lewis Young.

The game was played in the best of spirits, and the Stornoway boys were a credit to their school and community by giving their all and pushing right to the end.

The win helped the team reach the Bowl National Semi- Final, sending coaches and players home on a high.
