They’re splash hits

The South Ayrshire Swim Team Para Squad have been honoured.

They won the Provost’s Club of the Year at the South Ayrshire Sports Awards night.

The age range of the team is 10- 36 and is a mix of physical and learning difficulties.

Four of the swimmers undertook their UK Level 1 Aquatics Course in 2017 and are now either teaching or volunteering as coaches.

But the success on the night didn’t stop with one award. Cerys McCrindle was a finalist for Junior Sports Personality, Katie Campbell won Volunteer of the Year and Gary Craig lifted the award for High Performance Coach of the Year. The team were also delighted to see swim team member Jack Dickson win Sports Personality for his achievements in tennis. A fabulous night at Ayr Town Hall was enhanced by the excitement and enthusiasm of the SAST swimmers.
