David’s up for big fight debut
A football hero will don boxing gloves for the first time before hundreds of excited fight fans.
Ayr United legend David Kennedy will take part in a three- around exhibition match at Martial Mayhem at the Citadel on Saturday.
Kennedy, 51, insists it’s a one off appearance when he takes on fellow Wossobama Gym regular Paul Curran.
David revealed: “My personal trainer Billy McCann talked me in to it and claims it will be on the last roar for the auld yin.
“Both of us have never boxed before — bob and weave will be the name of the game for me.
“The pressure is on Paul as he is in 30s but Billy has been hammering me at training — I even had to get an eye injury glued.
“The weigh- in is at Boswells on Friday night when I have to turn up in my underwear.”
