Groups urged to apply for grant funds

- Lochlin Highet

A partnership between two organisations in North Carrick will see £ 100,000 distributed to projects before the end of March next year.

The funding goes under the banner of Participate, Activate, Regenerate and final decisions on which applicants should be funded will be made by local people in a decision day event on March 3, 2018.

The money will go to community groups, local organisations and businesses that can show that they will make a difference for people in the area and that they have thought about how their work will be able to continue once the funding ends.

Funding will be available in three tiers – small projects seeking up to £ 1,000; medium projects, where the grant required from the fund is between £ 1,000 and £ 5,000 and large projects where grants of up to £ 10,000 are available.

In all cases the applicant will be asked to complete a short Expression of Interest Form.

The deadline to submit this is December 17. Information sessions have been set up at Kirkoswald Church Hall November 22, Maidens Summer Church November 23, and Crosshill Community Centre November 28.

All of the sessions will run from 3.30pm to 6.30pm and people can dropin at any time.
