Councillor gives her monthly report

Councillor Laura BrennanWhi­tefield has delivered her monthly report to North Ayr and Newton and Heathfield community councils.

She told how the full South Ayrshire Council on October 5 agreed exisitng breakfast clubs would not be charged for school lets from October 25.

The SNP member added that any new clubs starting after that date will also not be charged.

She told how motion at the full council meeting was passed calling on the Westminste­r Government to address the issue of fixed odds bettering terminals in betting shops.

Ms Brennan- Whitefield said that travelling people have been moved on quickly after being served notice at the John Pollock Centre.

She added that the council were looking at way to secure the site to stop travelling people getting access.

The councillor said that land at the Old Stamp Works had been secured and the den used for youngsters during the summer for drinking booze had been taken down.

When asked about the future plans for Dalmilling Golf Course at North Ayr Community Council, she responded: “I know it is going to be a contentiou­s issue.

“We want to give people what they want. There needs to be a consultati­on and conversati­on with community.

“There has to be a public consultati­on to get as many people’s views on what they want.”
