Community councillor praised in bus row

-

Full marks to Troon Community Council’s Robert Milligan on tackling bus operators Stagecoach for arbitrarily reducing stops on the popular 14A route.

He’s boldly asked for a meeting with the Stagecoach managing director . . . but something tells me regional boss Tom Bridge won’t exactly be shaking in his boots if he ever makes it to Troon Town Hall for coffee and biscuits.

South Ayrshire Council should step in – at council leader and chief executive level – and invite Mr Bridge’s boss for a sit down at Castle Grayskull.

They could invite him to explain why Stagecoach seem happy to play fast and loose with their services in South Ayrshire – from hospital services, rural night services, Troon services, staffing issues and their lack of basic facilities at Ayr’s main bus station.

It’s time someone in authority told Stagecoach where to get off!
