Out and about with Margaret Robertson

The next meeting of the Lunch Club will be held on Wednesday February 3 at 12.30pm in the Piersland House Hotel, Troon.

Rehearsals for members of Troon Chorus resumed on Monday January 8. The singers are preparing for the Spring Concert which will be held in April.

New members for all sections of Troon Chorus will be made very welcome.

Come along on Monday night, Portland Church Hall for 7.30pm. Rehearsals finish at 9.30pm with a break for tea or coffee at 8.30pm. Contact Ray Owens on 316339. Marr 1st XV v Boroughmuir – 2pm at Fullarton – this Saturday January 13.

Happy New Year to all readers from the Troon Family History Society. Our next meeting will be on Thursday January 18 at 7.30pm in Portland Church Hall.

Our speaker will be Frank Beattie whose talk will be entitled “Pictures of Old Kilmarnock.”

Kilmarnock has a long and interesting history and although many of us are not from Ayrshire, it will give us an insight into what life was like in one of Troon’s near neighbours.
