We’re going from strength to strength – 25 years on

-

Well, that’s Christmas over once again and 2017 is now in the past.

So here at Caledonian, we are looking to the future and in particular to the coming year 2018.

Everyone at Caledonian would like to wish all our customers a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

As you can probably see from our advert Caledonian will be celebrating 25 years in business this year.

Going way back to 1993, Tom Middleton and Ian Hyslop had spent 10 years with a national company gaining valuable experience. Then they had the vision and ambition to start their own company which would be specialising in window and door replacement and the emerging conservatory market.

Business quickly flourished and soon Caledonian were employing 10 local people from joiners to office staff.

We are proud to say that over the next 25 years, we have installed literally tens of thousands windows and doors and numerous conservatories.

Tom and Ian have enjoyed 35 years serving the public in Ayrshire and have passed on their experience to a very skilful and vibrant younger workforce.

This will continue to benefit Caledonian in the future as Caledonian intend to be here for the next 25 years.

The market place has significantly changed over the last few years, Caledonian’s workload has increased considerably ( we now have over 50 employees and 25 vans) all servicing mainly within Ayrshire although we do have installations going in all over Scotland. However, we find that although we still install conservatories, we are now doing much more in the way of orangeries, sunrooms and extensions.

People tend not to move house so much nowadays so the preference in the last few years has been to enhance their property by adding an extra room which can be used all year round. The conservatories from 25 years ago although very popular were mainly constructed with polycarbonate roofs and resulted in the conservatory being too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. This leads to one of our major growth areas which is our Tiled Roof division.

This allows our customers to remove the polycarbonate roof and replace it with a modern, well insulated, durable, composite tiled roof that complies with Current Building Regulations, unlike some installations we have been made aware of in this area which do not comply.

The motto therefore is – deal with Caledonian for your new tiled roof and you’ll have peace of mind.

The result is, again, a room that can be used all year round.

Glass roof conservatories are proving to be in demand again due to adverse weather and not being able to sit in your garden.

Do you know that we did not have more than four consecutive days without rain in 2017?

Like everything else, the technology in glass roofs has evolved over the last few years, so much so that they will retain heat in the winter, stop your conservatory getting too hot in the summer and has a special surface- coating which allows the glass to be self cleaning.

Windows and doors continue to be our bread and butter, however. again, less people are moving home so the window and door replacements tend to be upgrading the property in order to preserve energy since less heat will be lost, and in fact all of Caledonian’s wndows and doors are A rated as standard, and Secured by Design for your assurance.

To celebrate 25 years in business, Caledonian are offering their best ever January Sale of up to 25 per cent discount on a range of products.

This offer will be honoured on a first- come first- served basis so be quick and take advantage of this fantastic offer.
