Baby blankets big response

It was party night when the members of Mauchline Rural met in the church hall last month.

After a delicious buffet supper, provided by the committee, everyone enjoyed a varied programme of games and quizzes. The highlight of the evening was a hilarious game of right / left at the end of which everyone received a present.

In her vote of thanks Agnes Watt warmly thanked all those involved in organising the evening. Agnes Bone also thanked all those who answered the appeal for knitted baby blankets for the premature baby unit at Crosshouse Hospital saying how overwhelmed she was at the tremendous response

Competition for ginger wine was kindly judged by Margaret Lynburn. Winner was Agnes Watt with Jean Geals second and Sandra Beveridge third.

Evening ended with carol singing and president Aileen McAllister wishing everyone the compliments of the season.

First meeting of the new year is on Monday, January 15, when Catherine Mills’ topic will be Nursery Rhymes.
