Pupils are quiz crackers

-

Kingcase Primary won the Prestwick Rotary Primary School Quiz after a closely contested match.

After a tense last few rounds only four points separated the top four teams.

It was a great event with teams from Glenburn, Heathfield, Kingcase, Monkton, St Ninian’s and Symington schools.

The winning team consisted of Lewis Duncan, Daniel Still, Ruth Duncan, Luke Jones and Jenna Keenan.

They were cool, calm and focused right through to the end and all the pupils joined in with generous applause.

In a new development this year the quiz was held in Prestwick Academy, with questions prepared and organised by a group of first year pupils.

This group formed a welcome committee, looked after the teams and assisted with running of the day.

Kingcase will go on to represent the area at the Rotary district quiz final on May 22 in Glasgow.

There they will apply their knowledge against schools from across the west of Scotland.

Prestwick Rotary president, Richie Cameron, said: “Congratulations to Kingcase Primary.

“They were superb on the day and all their efforts paid off.

“Congratulations to all the teams and to Prestwick Academy for making it a great day. Kingcase will do Prestwick proud in the district final.”
