Ayr men’s 1st XI crushed GHK 7- 0 at home to leave behind a poor performance a week earlier.

Two goals before the break and five in the second half kept Ayr on course for a possible second- place finish in West District Division One.

On Saturday, Ayr are away to Western before closing with a trip to Dumfries.

Ayr Ladies 1st XI beat Kelburne 1- 0. Amy Hyslop hit the bar in a goalless first- half before Claire Parker finished off a Louise Hill through ball for the winner.

Kelburne won several short corners in the last 15 minutes but the Ayr defence held on. Player of the match was Wallis Wylie in midfield.

The girls now face a tough double header at home this weekend ( 12: 30pm on Saturday and 12pm on Sunday) as they bid for the top half of the table.

The Ayr dinner will take place on Saturday, April 28 at the rugby club. Players can buy tickets from their captains or at training.

Troon Ladies teams were awarded two 5- 0 wins after Stepps and Western Wildcats conceded as they couldn’t field a team.

The 2s were 2- 0 winners over Uddingston Clinetix Ladies 3s with a double from Sara Gallagher.

The win keeps them third in Division Four and in contention for promotion. While the 1s are also third in Division 2, any promotion prospect is reliant on some very specific outcomes for the leading pair in their final games.

On Saturday, the Ladies 1s away to Lomond while Ladies 2s host Greenock Morton.
