Paul wins singles and then doubles

Paul Foster retained his British Isles singles title at Paisley after wins over Robert Paxton ( England) 21- 20, Graham McKee ( Ireland) 21- 8 and Scott Baxter ( Channel Islands) 21- 9.

It was double delight for Paul as he teamed up with Prestwick clubmate Craig Lindsay in the pairs to lift the British title after wins over Wales

( 16- 11) and England ( 25- 16).

Paul and David Gourlay couldn’t help Scotland claim the Internatio­nal Series. After wins over Ireland and Wales, they were beaten 120- 119 to England in the final match.

On Friday night, the Ambassador Trophy and Bobby Sutherland took place at Prestwick against Auchinleck.

Prestwick youngsters won the Bobby Sutherland 33- 29 to claim the trophy for the first time since 2015. It was a double on the night for Prestwick as they beat Auchinleck 85- 76 in the Ambassador Trophy.

Auchinleck’s Claire Johnston will travel with Commonweal­th Games Team Scotland to prepare for games at Broadbeach in Australia next month.

On Saturday, Auchinleck ladies play East Kilbride at Ardrossan in the second round of the Scottish Cup Knockout.

On Sunday, Auchinleck juniors travel to Glasgow IBC to play in semi final of the SYIBA Top Ten.

Baird Bowl: Auchinleck Outdoor v Mauchline; Cumnock v Glaisnock Valley ( 11am to 1pm).
