Turnberry Golf Club gents section held their annual general meeting on Saturday at which Peter Rae and Jim Nicol were elected as Captain and Vice- Captain respective­ly for their second term in office. Tom Paterson was elected Secretary/ Treasurer with Dominic Booth as Assistant Secretary. The meeting gave the attending members a chance to voice their views and several items were discussed.

Paul Bryden and George Collumb snr ( Anchor ‘ A’) won the Ayr and District 301 doubles, beating Jim Auld and Mark McLelland ( Pockets ‘ A’) 3- 2 in the final. The winners are pictured ( below) with committee man Billy Saunders.

BRIDGE

The disruption at the Bridge centre, caused by renovation work, is nearly at an end. Alison Tudor has co- ordinated the work, ensuring that it has been completed speedily and with as little disruption as possible. The Ayrshire Bridge Union are looking for new members on its Council. Numbers have depleted over the last few years so a few more are required to spread the work load.. The Ayrshire AGM is on Wednesday, April 25 at 7.30pm. This is also the evening of the prize giving.
