Trainee chefs cook for MSPs at Parliament
students cooked up a treat as they hosted a special dinner service at the scottish parliament in Edinburgh.
ayrshire College professional Cookery students prepared and served a three course menu in the prestigious members’ restaurant to 30 guests, including Msps.
the trainee chefs even got a tour around the parliament buildings after they fed the likes of Msps Willie Coffey and gillian Martin amongst others.
Hospitality lecturer, Claire anderson said: “this was an outstanding evening and a wonderful experience for our students.
“they certainly rose to the occasion, and this experience will give them confidence and aspirations for the future.
“the Msps had nothing but praise for the quality of food, and presentation.”
Willie Coffey Msp who co- hosted the event said: “I am sure I can speak on behalf of my parliamentary colleagues in saying that we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
“the students have proved themselves to be real professionals, worthy of taking their place in scotland’s much acclaimed food, drink and hospitality sectors, and are a credit to ayrshire College and its staff.
“We would like to thank them, and wish them well in their future careers.”
this was the College’s third invitation to host the prestigious dinner.
