Band to represent scotland in UK champs
ayr- based Dunaskin Doon Band is representing scotland at the UK National Brass Band Championship. the band, which currently competes in the first section of the scottish Brass Championship, heard the great news after arriving second at the scottish area qualifiers recently.
they will travel to Cheltenham in september and this journey feels like a throwback for the band who already participated at the National Championship back in 2014, and 2016. they are very proud of being able to represent scotland in the competition and they are already preparing for a busy summer of practice under the guidance of musical director Chris Bradley assisted by Resident Conductor scott Walker.
the band, who is registered as a charity, totally relies on membership subscription and in the coming months they will be also running fundraising events. to stay on track with the latest dates follow their Facebook page at Dunaskin Doon Band. the support of everyone would be very much appreciated.
their next event will be at Kyle academy theatre in ayr on sunday 29 april at 7 pm. tickets are £ 6/£ 4 concessions ( under 16s, over 65s) and will be available from any band member, by emailing secretary@ ddband. co. uk or at the door on the night.
Moreover, they are also looking for a rehearsal premises so if you can help in any way, please contact the band secretary Fiona by emailing secretary@ ddband. co. uk.
