New council parking charges set for Ayr, Troon and Prestwick have not left readers amused.

It’s a couple of quid, you spend more on a lottery ticket. Honestly, folk want everything free, welcome to austerity Scotland. “Deal with it.”

Community champions are being urged to join monthly litter picks, in a bid led by SNP councillor Siobhian Brown.
Claire Forsyth said: “Great to see people trying to improve our town. “Hopefully this will encourage more people to do the same. I am shocked by the number of times I see people ( of all ages) drop litter without a second thought.” But Karen Love said: “Why don’t you just fine people for littering? As they do in Australia if you are caught dropping litter it’s an instant fine as it should be here you see very little rubbish on the streets over there.”
