Threat to ‘ slash’ officers

-

Two mouthy teens have been warned they will go to jail if they keep kicking off. Shaun Brown, 18, and a 17- year- old boy appeared in court for abusing police officers in Bellsbank.

On releasing the duo on bail, Sheriff Desmond Leslie said: “If there is a repeat then you are both going to jail. And make not mistake about it. I will personally deal with this. You are both accumulating significant records.”

The 17- year- old threatened to slash officers and slit their throats.

Police officers came across him at a camp fire in a wood in the village on February 3, Ayr Sheriff Court heard.

Depute fiscal Jason Bell said: “Police spoke to the accused. He became aggressive towards them.”

Mr Bell added: “He began to struggle shouting: ‘ You are too old for this. You will never get me out of here.’”

The court heard how officers managed to get hold of him by the feet.

Earlier this month on April 6 the pair hurled abuse at police in a Bellsbank house.

Mr Bell said Brown, of Bellsbank, shouted and swore at officers.

And the other teen said he would “slash” someone.

Defending Brown, Steven Maxwell, said he had “difficulties.”

He added: “He is clearly starting to push the court boundaries.”

Glenn Davis, defending the other boy, said the police turned up at the Bellsbank property because others had put a paving slab through a window.

Mr Davis said the boy “felt the police were mocking him.”

He added how his client accepts reacted badly when police turned up at the camp fire incident in February.

He told Sheriff Leslie: “I am in no doubt my lord that he does fear custody.”

The pair will be sentenced at a later date.
