Sir Tom to back next generation

-

West Coast Accelerator are hosting a business breakfast with Sir Tom Hunter and some of Ayrshire’s most successful entrepreneurs on Thursday, April 26.

WCA, which is a new, entirely free Accelerator programme, is funded and supported by The Hunter Foundation in Dundonald.

Sir Tom is putting his cash behind this new initiative to help Ayrshire entrepreneurs create sustainable jobs.

David Christian of Troon, Programme Director of WCA, said: “Our ambition, alongside all of our partners in the entrepreneurial eco- system, is to build a facility that supports start- ups and existing growth businesses with a range of mechanisms to accelerate growth and enhance economic returns.

“Additionally, the experienced entrepreneurs in the Accelerator’s team will work to support schools and colleges to encourage and promote entrepreneurial thinking.”

Applications to join the new accelerator programme are now being accepted.

The new Accelerator is already supporting 33 Ayrshire businesses and is now looking to take in its next cohort of budding entrepreneurs or growth businesses, offering an in- depth programme of support as well as making available free meeting rooms, desks, Wi- Fi and printing facilities.

In addition to the support provided by a raft of visiting entrepreneurs and advisers, entrepreneurs will benefit from the “community feel” within the WCA headquarters.

Applications are open for the next intake on May 30 and can be made at info@ westcoastaccelerator.co.uk.
