Ayr Seaforth get round the circuits

Club athletes travel far and wide to compete

- Lochlin Highet

A fantastic turnout of 10 Seaforth athletes competed in the Kaim Hill Race ( Fairlie) on last Wednesday.

In glorious Spring weather with views over the Firth of Clyde to the Islands and West Highlands, the 5.5km course involved an ascent of more than 1100 feet through burns, bracken and marshland to the Trig Point at the Top and back down into Fairlie and the finishing line.

There were seven athletes from Ayr Seaforth competing at the London marathon which was an excellent turnout for the club.

In sweltering conditions all seven completed the gruelling course with one, Ian Young, even doing this dressed as an Egyptian Pharaoh.
