Flaw in parking charges

-

I have just read the double page spread in the Post about the budget process following the FOI.

So the real question as yet to be answered is who was the originator in the consultation process.

I am sure the paper trail will be released at some point , but it shows that the staff who work for South Ayrshire should have no loyalty to an administration that has no loyalty to them for their hard work over the years.

They have yet to agree the level of charging at the car parks they agreed in the budget to charge for. However there are flaws in the proposal starting with the wording of the proposal they published in December 2017 and I quote “Introduce new charges for parking in council car parks that are currently free of charge“so when they decide what level of charging to set then?

Will the charging apply to council car parks like the County Buildings, Citadel and other council car parks at council buildings , or is it one rule for the public and another for themselves?

Will they have free parking within the confines of the council office?

On reading more about charging £ 2 all day charge has been muted which if your a low paid worker who works in one of the affected areas could cost you £ 10 per week if your a full time worker a back door stealth annual cost of £ 520 per year anyone else see the flaw there? Will town centres survive as the public will shop where there is free parking? Ian Stewart, 83 Thornyflat Road, Ayr
