Toni Scott and Martin Graham
The couple
Toni Scott, a 28- year- old driving instructor married 28- year- old Springwater fishery worker Martin Graham.
Toni is originally from Ayr with husband Martin from Dreghorn.
The couple are currently living in Kilmarnock.
Their story
“Strangely we met in the car scene, going to local car shows and wasting a tank of fuel a night cruising about the beach but it seemed like fun back then,” said Toni.
“We became the best of friends seeing each other most week nights and always at the weekends.
“Martin will always say he did the chasing and that I never took ‘ the bait’.
“It took for us to be apart for three months for me to realise that there was a spark there - and the rest is history.
“I truly married my best friend of six years who was always there when my heart got broken to then realise that ‘ the one’ was by my side all along.”
The wedding
The couple got married at Lochside House Hotel on September 11 last year with a traditional Scottish theme with Braveheart music played throughout.
Toni said: “We had a very intimate wedding with all our special loved ones there and that’s what mattered. “It was the quickest day ever. “Everyone always says to you ‘ take it all in as it goes by so quickly’- now I know what they meant.
“The biggest thing I will always remember is that Martin had surprised us all by having our dogs attend the wedding wearing gorgeous big bows.
“I couldn’t believe it - it really meant a lot.”
Attire
The bride wore a Ronald Joyce dress from Brides of Scotland in East Kilbride.
The kilts were from McCallum Bagpipes & Ayrshire Kilt Shop in Kilmarnock.

Honeymoon
Unfortunately the day before the couple’s big day they received a phone call to say their dream honeymoon to Cuba was cancelled due to a hurricane which destroyed their hotel.
Toni said: “We managed to get into Thomas Cook and booked our honeymoon to Belek in Turkey.
“What a honeymoon it was and one we’ll remember for sure.
“We are still hoping to get to our original honeymoon spot in Cuba some anniversary.”

Thanks
“We would like to thank all our family and friends for being there and supporting us through it all.
“A massive thank you to all our suppliers for our wedding, we cannot thank you enough.
“And if I can give any advice to a bride and groom then it would be the advice that everyone told me: ‘ take it all in as the day goes by so quickly’”.
