‘ God of my Praise’ is the title of the Salvation Army ( Ayr Community Gospel Choir) show next month. It is being staged on Sunday, June 3, at 6pm in Troon Concert Hall, free admission.

Portland Church’s annual gardening day will be held in the hall on Saturday, May 26, from 10am- noon. There will be a selection of perennials, vegetables, plugs, cuttings and seedlings. Tea, coffee and home baking will be available in the Portland Cafe next door to the plant sale.

The May meeting of the Astronomer­s of the Future Club will be held in the Railway Club, Harbour Road, Troon, on Wednesday, May 31, from 7.15pm to 9pm. The guest speaker is Chris O’Kane from the Astronomic­al Society, Glasgow, whose subject is ‘ Journey to Cydonia: The First Small Step’.

Musical Remembranc­e Troon will celebrate favourite songs from the past at The Cabin today from 1.30pm to 3pm.

The last meeting of Troon Flower Club was held on April 25 in Walker Hall. President May Keir introduced Irene Parker from Hexham with ‘ My Flower World’. Irene entertaine­d the audience with beautiful flowers of vibrant colour with interestin­g foliage, containers and lots of useful tips. Members and guests had a most entertaini­ng evening.

Troon Flower Club ran a very successful workshop in St Meddans Church Hall on May 5. Eighteen members attended the workshop and produced a variety of spectacula­r arrangemen­ts. Christian Aid Week ends on Friday. Lunches will be served in Troon Old Parish Church Hall on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11.30am until 1.30pm.

A regatta will be held on Troon South Beach on Saturday, June 2, from 11am.

Treetops Tenants and Residents Associatio­n AGM on May 17 has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstan­ces.

Ayrshire Bus Users Group will hold their AGM in the Cabin on Saturday, June 30, at 11am. A spokeswoma­n said: “More members are required to support this group and get changes to the bus timetables, especially in the Troon area. Bus services have been decimated in the past year and more than half of the town is cut off from direct access to Irvine.”
