Time travel magic

-

Time travellers from all frontiers are invited to come along for an exciting, multi- sensory arts experience as Magic at the Museum – Time Travellers arrives at the Dick Institute, Kilmarnock, on Sunday, May 20.

Come as you are, or come dressed in costumes inspired by the theme of time travel, and get ready to experience an epic journey through storytelling, drama, puppet making and film.

You can meet award- winning children’s author Janis MacKay, who will tell you all about ‘ The Reluctant Time Traveller’, as well as meeting a weird and wonderful explorer who will transport you through the museum to investigate collections from far off lands.

You can also make your own puppet inspired by objects from a different time zone, before completing your journey with a cinematic finale, watching Disney’s ‘ Flight of the Navigator’.

Funded by Museums Galleries Scotland as part of the Festival of Museums National Initiative, the event is aimed at children aged five to 11. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

There are sessions at 11am and 2.30pm and tickets, £ 6 adults/£ 6 child, are available from eastayrshireleisure. com or pop into the Dick Institute.

Snack packs containing a sandwich, drink, cookie and fruit are available costing £ 4 each, which should be purchased at the time of booking.
