Mum’s fury at killer driver

Grieving mum’s support turned to anger after killer revealed she was pregnant to new lover

- Stephen Houston

the mother of a young man killed by his girlfriend in horror road smash says she wants her to rot in jail.

Natasha scott, of ayr, is facing a prison term after causing the death of Kai Milligan by dangerous driving.

scott put the foot down and literally flew over a hill crest on the 60mph High Maybole road.

In an exclusive interview with the post, Kai’s mum Bonnie, 42, said:“the way she quickly moved on from him - even boasting she was back on the road in a new car - made my family sick.”

The mother of Kai Milligan wants the arrogant killer of her son to endure a long and miserable stretch behind bars.

And Bonnie,42, said: “I tried to give Natasha Scott the benefit of any doubt and used to stick up for her.

“I don’t think anyone believes for a second she deliberately killed Kai. But I think she took that hill to jump the car deliberately and it turned into a deadly mistake.

“The way she quickly moved on from him – even boasting she was back on the road in a new car – made my family sick.

“She has spent almost two years trying to wriggle her way out of this before finally pleading guilty five days before the trial.

“She was wrecked lives and I hope she goes to prison for it.

“She killed my son through arrogance and stupidity and she needs to pay for ruining the lives of so many and taking the life of my lovely boy.”

Scott bagged a new boyfriend within a couple of months of the horror.

And she enjoyed boozy nights out with her new flame, posting them on social media to the obvious hurt of the Milligan family.

Scott and Kai had only been going out together for about five weeks – and were near neighbours in the same street in Maybole.

Bonnie (below right) said she had believed Natasha for eight months that she was not culpable and believed Kai was in love with her.

Bonnie said: “I remained friends with Natasha on Facebook even when I knew she was in a new relationship.

“I thought she was only 19 after all. But then she started posting about how happy she was to be driving again.

“When she posted she was pregnant, I thought, that’s it.

“I messaged her to say I was the only one that had given her the benefit of the doubt, that I had stuck up for her when nobody else did, but that I now felt like a mug.

“I didn’t want to get eaten up by anger but the longer it went on I realised she was to blame. And what she has posted on social media is disgusting and shows she has no respect.”

After Kai’s death in July 2016, we revealed how his shattered friends raised money through charity events including a football match.

He did not have a job when he died but, unknown to his family, he’d just received literature about a college course on bricklaying.

She fondly recalls the last time she saw him when he visited her home in Birmingham in May.

Kai’s dad Brian still lives in Maybole.

Bonnie revealed: “We had a picnic and his visit really cheered him up.

“We were in phone contact all the time and I last spoke to him a couple of days before the crash.

“All I ever wanted for Kai was for him to be happy, as I would for any of my children.”

She’d travelled north last week expecting a trial but instead listened to the court narrative of Kai’s final moments.

Bonnie, has two other sons Lee, now 21, and 12-year-old Billy.

She said: “For the first time I got to hear of Kai’s injuries, which were horrific.

“He was a big gentle boy and my youngest son adored Kai and is still really struggling with this.

“Natasha claims she does not remember what happened, but she only had a graze on her shoulder, no concussion, nothing.

“Yet my son was killed and their other pals were hurt.

“I want her to get a significant sentence in prison.”
