Ayr Racecourse put up security camera and light masts - because they didn’t think they needed permission.

Four powerful 200 watt spotlights and four cameras have been mounted on poles more than 16-feet high.

They are to cover the front concourse and parking area on Whitletts Road.

Agents LMA Architects told South Ayrshire Council: “Client assumed that Planning Permission was not required.”

Owners the Western Meeting Club have now had to apply for consent.
