Top cop Colin is on his bike

One of ayr’s most recognisable policemen has stepped down from his beat.

Colin Blair was given a parade down the High street by colleagues on his final day, pictured.

It follows 25 years in a range of positions within the service.

Best known as a community cop in ayr for almost 10 years, he also spent time as a procurator Fiscal liason Officer and worked in the force’s CCtV unit.

ayr pC Jamie Cree said: “Colin was a hugely respected officer and this was what he’d asked for as his last hurrah.

“He was only expecting a couple of us to accompany him on the cycle down the High street, so he got a huge surprise.

“Being a community cop was his real love, so it was great to see so many turn out.”
