Priceslashed£50k onghostsurgery

Departing docs trying to cash in on their old building have slashed the price by £50,000.

And it pours salt on the wounds of campaigners who were trying to save the ghost surgery in Troon.

The offers over price for the former 101 Medical Practice has been cut from £400,000 to £350,000.

A public campaign to save it and incorporate the Portland Street building into the smaller Templehill Surgery failed.

Instead Ayrshire and Arran Health Board are pumping an alleged £200,000 into the Templehill property.

No buyers have been found for the old 101 despite it being on the market for nearly four months.

The cut of 12.5% is being made to try and shift it. The 3,344 sq ft mothballed building has six surgery rooms and comes with 15 parking spaces.

Agent Kevin Bell, Partner at Shepherd’s Ayr office, said: “Although previously a surgery, the building is suited to a variety of alternative uses.”
